Welcome to 3/A!

The 3/A Coffee Co. was founded in 1934 by my Great-Grandfather, Joseph F. Anspaugh (left) and his sons Kenneth (my Grandfather) and Lawrence Anspaugh. They operated a very successful and popular coffee business in Shelbyville, Indiana in the 1930's, 40's and 50's. Joseph and his sons traveled Shelby County, Indiana, first by horse and carriage, and later by automobile, delivering their coffees door to door to their customers. The original 3/A Coffee Co. was closed in 1961 when Joseph's wife, Lora (my Great-Grandmother), became ill. Joseph cared for his wife until she died in 1964. He never re-opened the coffee business. My name is Jeff Anspaugh, and with my wife Michelle, and our children, Aaron, Alex, Alton, Erin, Aleah, Addie and Joe, we are pleased to operate today's 3/A Coffee Co.

Today's 3/A Coffee Co. is much different than it was in the old days, but the basic business principles that were used by Joseph F. Anspaugh are still used today. He knew that taking care of his customers was the best way to have a successful business. We put the "personal touch" back in business by building lasting relationships with our customers and providing them with excellent customer service.

We don't deliver our coffees by horse and carriage like the old 3/A Coffee Co., but we do still offer free delivery to our Shelby County, Indiana customers. In these times of businesses not paying attention to their customer's needs, we think you'll find The 3/A Coffee Co. a breath of fresh air.

We always purchase the finest coffee we can find, only 100% Arabica coffee, and only the highest grade of coffee possible. All of our coffees are fresh roasted after you place your order and packaged in 1 lb. heat sealed foil bags with one-way degassing valves. We don't keep roasted coffee sitting on a shelf to get stale.
